"It's a long way from 'SD' to Denver."

Man did we ever learn how long it is from San Diego to Denver. And when Mr. JD sang it's a long way from LA to Denver he was just talking about the flight. We started our adventure on Monday the 29th of July. We were running around taking care of last minute items and even ran into a few great people before we left. (Josh and Kate) We had to eat the frozen cakeballs we had saved from our wedding since they wouldn't have made the trip. So good!  By 11:30am we were on the road headed to Utah. I cried a bit leaving SD proper, and then a bit more when we were headed into the high desert out of LA. However, I wouldn't have wanted to do this trip with anyone else but Gary. He really is a solid rock in my life, and while at times I did feel a bit like kicking and screaming forcing him to drag me out of San Diego, I did go willing only because of him. Cash did so well on this leg of the journey. We towed my car behind us and put all that we could into a 10foot U-Haul truck.

Cash got his dog bed in the middle of the seats and did so well. We are lucky he travels well. We did make one last In-n-Out run in Barstow before we left CA for good. But man gas is so expensive there. We arrived in St. George, UT around 8pm CA time and 9pm our new time. We were hungry, and ready to settle in at Grandma Taylor's Condo, but needed to get the car unhooked and Cash in his crate in the AC. (Man SG is so hot!!!) We are so lucky we had a place to stay somewhat in the middle of our journey. Thank you Grandma for letting us crash a few days.

Good Morning St. George

The next day we didn't get an early start like we wanted to, but the 108 degree weather wasn't going to completely stop us. We went and walked around downtown St. George. They have an awesome new splash zone for kids down there. Completely free with free parking, and the kiddos were having a blast. After that we drove around and found ourselves as Pioneer Park up in the red rock. It is just opposite of the plato that the condo is on. There were even little mini arches up there. So much space to explore, but it was just to hot, and some frozen custard was calling our names. Gary got his first taste of Nielsen's Frozen Custard, and I got my first taste in a long time. It is just as sinfully good as I remember it being.

Forever wanting to be the Karate Kid.

Soooo Good!!!

We had a nice little vacation. Along with the custard. Gary also had his first trip to "Up Chuck A Grandma" aka Chuck-a-Rama. He loves a good buffets and we definitely rolled out of there bigger than we went in. So we had to go for a walk and there was a cute store named Tai Pan Trading Company. Finally found a mug big enough for Gary's morning coffee.

All in all St. George treated us well and gave us a nice break between driving. Thanks Dixie for your hospitality.
